  1. This is supposed to be a multi-player game (only for 2 or 3 players) - a dedicated server in my living room! I can run the Big Dig mod from the Technic Launcher, go to multiplayer and the server is shown. I can join the game and all appears well. Pretty sure I have the dynamic DNS correctly done as well as all the port forwarding. It is just that my friend (he in UK - I in NJ) always gets a 'can't reach server' message. The URL is correct but he can't connect. There is a launch script that comes with the BigDig server pack. I've also started the vanilla MC server and can hook up via the same URL - but he still gets the 'cannot connect' msg. So the only thing left it would seem, is some sort of firewall issue (have tried the box as a DMZ - no help either).
  2. I'd like to run a big dig server at home - for just 2 or 3 peeps to play. Whenever I search for 'big dig server' I get tons of info on servers i can GO to - but can't find the server itself. Currently I run the Technic launcher and enter the server address - and I can access the game by way of my domain name, but my friend keeps getting "can't reach server" errors. I suspect this is because I don't have my BD server (now just a .jar file) in the firewall list. This is the first time I've set up a server - have all the dynamic dns, port forwarding worked out, but still have some issues with the windows firewall. I can find minecraft.exe to add to the permitted programs, but nothing for BD. Any ideas? What steps have I missed? =Alan R.
  3. I've been making attempts to learn pulverizer, pipes and furnace - to create a flow to a chest. In latest BD, have a simple setup in creative mode: Powered urnace with Stirling Engine, a hopper over top, and on the right, a wood transport pipe (also with Stirling) going to a chest with 3 cobble transport pipes. A chest is on the Hopper and everything leaves - down to the furnace I assume. The furnace is showing 2400 MJ stored, and 0 used. Naturally noting is coming out of the right. Where did I step on my Johnson in this simple setup???? :-(
  4. I'm new to BigDig (and MC) but notice there is no music. Running via Technic Launcher. Is it broken or is there a way to turn it off/on? I do like it.
  5. Title: BigDig: Glass panes not working Version: 1_0_3 OS: Win 7 ultimate Java Version: Java 7 update 11 (64b) 7.0.110 Description of Problem: Just started a house in world created with BigDig and glass panes will not insert into holes in a block wall. Right-clicking the pane into a hole in the cobblestone wall does nothing. Error Messages: None Error Log:
  6. As a retired programmer I do have to say that allowing one to start using a feature that is not working, is def poor programming practice. The skill and ability of the modder not withstanding - Like filling a form on the web then hitting submit and saying 'oops - not working'. Bad mojo! Never let the end-user even SEE something that is unavailable (like links on the web that go to 'Under Construction' - just don't enable the damn link!)
