  1. Ive seen a case like this as well in the case of someone who has installed Railcraft.. It looks like there was recently a new block type installed for systems running a updated version of Railcraft "Hidden Block".. And Originally on one of my custom builds i had a case where the Smeltery Refused to fire up.. The solution is to go into the railcraft config file.. and change "Hidden Block" to "0". Then after i restarted that fired up without a problem.. However..your most likely culprit is either its not built properly or something like railcraft is conflicted with it. (Note.. on the Railcraft Fix.. I claim no responsibility of anything that comes of altering that file.. Its something I had googled and found on the Tinkerers construct Mod Forum that resolved the issue for me.. Milage may very)
  2. One little thing I found.. since we do have computer craft is the following Turtle Script. http://pastebin.com/3mkeUzby Its designed to mine every third level and to check above it and below it for Ores.. If it sees one of the items you whitelist on it.. it ignores it and continues to the next.. I mined out a 15x15 grid with very little surface disturbance.. and what was there i was able to fill back in with a stack of dirt... Yes.. Albeit the ground underneath looks like swiss cheese.. it seemed to work really well.
  3. If you have screen installed.. this is probably one of the better ways to do it.. for my server i usually run screen ./launch.sh (or whatever your launch file is called) This will then fire off the Game.. Once everything is loaded you can hit CTRL - A + D and it will break out of the screen and leave the program running in the background.. To get back into the screen you can type screen -r Not sure why your getting the duplicating monster.. but im sure by the look at that its not healthy.
