  1. Thanks Bros. I did notice that at some point after I posted this, and wondered the same thing. I didnt consider that it was outdated, since it was included and others were apparently using both it and MCPC (which is apparently also not working with Hexxit). Very frustrating for a true noob, with little hosting experience hosting vanilla, and none with hosting the less documented tekkit platforms.
  2. Ok, so I get my server up and running.... I see that Hexxit recommends MCPC+, but then I read that it doesnt work... so I install forgebukkit instead, following the instructions, and it jacked my world up, it wouldnt load and corrupted the damn thing. Am I just unlucky, or does ForgeBukkit shit the bed also on this?
  3. I posted these in the server admin forum, but havent got a response yet. I am loathe to invite people to play on my server, without getting some of the basics sorted, and am hoping for some assistance. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide my noob self!!! Links to my questions : http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/errors-in-hexxit-server-log-no-additional-mods-plugins.47543/ and http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/question-about-forgeessentials-and-hexxit-lag-mem.47538/ One of the posts first post actually links back to the 2nd for some clarification... so this is a sort of Inception help request.
  4. see here for error in my server logs that is likely related http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/errors-in-hexxit-server-log-no-additional-mods-plugins.47543/
  5. Anyone know what would be causing the messages pasted below? I was the single occupant of my server, running just the Hexxit files, and nothing else. I was getting some major delay when axing trees but none when I was digging/etc. I am being hosted by Fluctis, with a gig of ram, if that helps. 2013-06-22 23:48:42 [WARNING] [Minecraft-Server] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? 2013-06-22 23:48:45 [WARNING] [Minecraft-Server] Can't keep up! 6. Hey all, I have a Hexxit server I am hosting via Fluctis Hosting. I got it up and running last night, but wanted to get some tools installed to personalize the world a bit. One of the things I wanted to set were permissions, and it looks like the ForgeEssentials is the way to go. I notice that all of the permissions vids I have seen, all use the in game commands to set up the perm structures. What is the benefit of doing it that way, as opposed to editing the cfg file??? I am a hamfisted noob, and prefer to be able to see what I have typed/am typing, etc in an editor. I ran a bukkit server ages ago, and seem to remember having issues when trying to use PEX, and I believe it was due to formatting... I think that was why I gave up using PEX and ended up using (i think it was) YAPP. Anyhow, so is FE the best thing going for setting up and restricting a starting area, and building permissions??? Or are there alternatives? I am very unfamiliar with the Forgemod stuff, this is my first foray into it. My other question is regarding my Hexxit server... I have a gig of RAM and am hosted off of Fluctis' NY server. I was playing last nighjt, and was having a 7 second delay between cutting down a tree, and it actually falling. Is this a server side issue, or a problem with Hexxit? Appreciate any insight the community can give!!!
  7. I was havin probs last night with this... I am a complete noob. I was trying to load hexxit.jar. I needed to load Hexxit.jar. The caps made the diff.
  8. Ok. I have myt planters full, and it is ejecting seeds/trees... So I snapped a pipe on one of the outputs to the planter.. but it just continues to spit the seeds out... advice please!!!
  9. Ok, I made some DSUs, and have them stuffed with junk... my question is how do I pipe that junk out of them, and into something else??? Like if I wanted to feed my oak into a furnace, or something like that... I tried connecting xport pipes from the DSU "out" to the furnace, but nothing happens....
  10. I am a beginner at Tekkit. I have never had any prior experience with the mod, and am just fumbling through it. To get my lava working, I set up 3 aquaeous accumulators, and 3 steam engines. I made the pools, placed the AAs in them, and topped the AAs with the steam engines. I topped the steam engines with the wooden conductive pipe, and then plumbed them all into gold conductive pipe and had all 3 gens feed into one magma crucible. The I filled the crucible with netherrack, and then had a wood waterproof pipe going to gold waterproof pipes that lead to my magma engine. The crucible takes forever to fully power, so in the mean time I ran my production line by dumping the lava, via bucket, directly into the magmatic engine. I only highlight this like I did, so that you can check to make sure you are wired correctly. I *REALLY* doubt that my way is the most efficient way of doing it, but I couldnt find a 1.5.1 tutorial that gave me a good play by play of how to set this up efficiently. All of the vids I have seen are either old, FTB, or skip over the basics because they assume you have a fundamental knowledge of how tekkit works. If its no help, I am sorry!
  11. I figured it out right after I posted this... I made the thing inside, in my "lab".... I thought I had the roof high enough for the highest rubber tree, but I did not... as a last ditch effort, I cleared the roof, and it popped up and scared the hell out of me.
  12. Hey all, I was wondering if I could get some assistance... Today I built a simple automated machine to plant/fertilize/harvest rubber trees. The Fertilizer is filled with ind ferts, and powered, and the layout is standard 3x3 block, one dirt in the middle with the planter under it, the fertilizer on one side (glowing output side facing the sapling) and the harvester on the opposite side. The planter is definitely planting.. everything is running off of the same power source, and full of steam, but the fertilizer isnt doing its job..... This is driving me insane. Please help with any advice you can!!!
