Jar didnt work either

I have tried every method of downloading the Tekkit and Technic launchers for my Mac OSX version 10.5.8. Is there any compatible launcher out there. It really bothers me also because all of my friends play it and i feel left out. The Message it says when i open the launcher is: The action “Run AppleScript” encountered an error. Check the actionʼs properties and try running the workflow again. Also, I tried downloading it for my PC and it didn't work. Thanks for your time, Sir_Ross
