  1. Ah, well strangely enough, I did manage to get the AS cannon function (G or R key) working, though it seemed to be completely random. The left click function is still broken. I hope these are all bugs that will be worked out with the new mod API in a few months.
  2. My plugins are fairly minimalistic, at least I'm not running anything that should be interfering. Other than essentials and my worlds, I'm running bukkitspeak (connects teamspeak and bukkit chat), minecars, templecraft, safeexplosions, MCeat and blocks on glass. The actual server isn't crashing when you change modes (didn't realize that until after my last post), it's just disconnecting the players. It hasn't given me an error in the console at all. I've also found that destruction catalyst and the transmutation tablet aren't working either.
  3. These items are simply not working. Even with fuel. For Archangel's smite, 'r' does nothing just like 'g' does nothing, left click also does not work, although right click does. I haven't tested the void ring but I'm fairly certain I'll get the same results. Edit: Just tested the evertide amulet. It's also not working properly. Swiftwolf's Rending Gale causes the server to crash when you change modes (null pointer exception).
  4. Title: Some EE Items Not Working on Server Version: 3.0.3/3.0.4 OS: Windows 7 64 Bit Java Version: 7 Description of Problem: Some of the equivalent exchange items aren't working properly on my server, such as archangel's smite, DM pedestal and void ring. These all work fine in singleplayer. Archangel's Smite somewhat works on server (right click is working, left click isn't, and neither is 'g'). Void ring doesn't do anything it's supposed to and the DM pedestal is equally useless. Error Messages: None in the console. Error Log: No error reported from modloader.
  5. My users have complained of this same problem, not to mention some ungodly lag since I installed tekkit. Not sure if the mods are to blame or if it's just something on my end-- because I'm hosting the server myself, I don't actually feel any of the lag.
  6. If it's the same plugin I had (TrainCarts, I think) then that one never did work for me. The world always crashed out when I placed any minecarts-- I'm glad railcraft added that feature. The one I'm using now (Minecars) wasn't working because the config was set up so that minecarts would destroy themselves when they were placed on anything other than black wool or normal rails. Once I turned that off, I could use railcraft by itself, or minecars by itself with no problem...unfortunately they don't work in tandem though.
  7. Just a quick note, I'm well aware of the fact that many plugins conflict with mods. Especially mods that alter the same mechanics that the plugins do. But when I saw this plugin I just had to try... I was browsing through devbukkit and came across a plugin called Minecars. Basically, it turns minecarts into cars that can be "driven" on black wool. I thought, hot damn, that looks awesome. After another minute I thought, that would be bloody awesome in combination with railcraft. And then, I wonder if the two will work together. So while I was waiting on my download to finish I was having delicious Minecraft dreams of skating around a racetrack Mariokart style and trying to hit the launcher rails for skymileage, and ignoring the exasperated little voice in my head reminding me that this sort of combination of plugins and mods almost never work. Much to my surprise, when I booted up the server, not only was the minecars plugin working, but when I put a cart down on a railcraft track-- it worked like a dream! I was so excited, I started whipping up a track right away...this was going to be awesome, I thought, like something straight out of the Nintendo playbook. So I finished my track, grabbed myself a minecart, and prepared for some unadulterated Minecraft bliss. And then I popped out of my minecart. You see, in my excited stupor, I had only tested the mod's compatibility with the plugin with an *empty* minecart. It wasn't having it with me in the cart, no way, no how. So now that all of my hopes and dreams have been shattered, I come to you, fellow Tekkit users, and ask: Have you ever fallen in love with a plugin at first sight only to have it break your heart in the long run when it turns out it interferes with your mods? Let's share our war stories. And maybe weep, just a little bit. Bitter, blocky minecraft tears. Edit: Oh my goodness, I've managed to make them work together. Topic still relevant, however!
  8. That was it =) He was using an outdated launcher. Strange though, theoretically it still should have worked. Thank you!
  9. Everything in their folder is exactly the same as mine, right down to the version numbers of each mod. He sent me the screenshots.
  10. Did that, but the user still can't connect. It does seem to have cleared up quite a bit of the lag I was experiencing before, though! :D
  11. I haven't updated to 3.04 yet, no, but everything is running smoothly. My other users have no problem connecting. The only real issue I'm having in the logs is that I'm getting spammed with 'null receiver' periodically.
  12. One of the players on my server contacted me today and said that even with the technic launcher, he can't connect to my server (running tekkit 3.0). He says that even though the mods are installed and working in singleplayer, the server doesn't appear to be detecting them. I asked him to send screenshots of his mods folder (I had originally suspected that he had forgotten to select 'use latest development build' in the launcher) as well as the error he was getting, but his folder is identical to mine. The server error is saying that he basically has none of the mods installed, but he does. I tried working with him to find a solution, but I'm stumped. I can include screenshots for reference if needed, but there's nothing apparent in any of them...and he's asked me not to release them unless absolutely necessary since some of them contain his real name. I can block his name out if the screenshots are needed. Thanks in advance.
  13. Tekkit's just a glorified mod pack with it's own launcher. Incredibly nifty and user friendly, but anyone who knows how to mod minecraft can just pick up the server side mods for themselves (most of them are on MC port central) and throw together their own 'tekkit' server.
  14. The democratic party was actually split on the issue of slavery. Northern democrats opposed it while southern democrats supported it (with the exception of Andrew Jackson, who was Lincoln's vice president). It probably had more to do with the territory than actual political beliefs, as the north was becoming industrialized while the south still relied heavily on farms. Republicans were, however, unanimously opposed to it. Looking back on the history of our political parties, it's interesting to see how they've both evolved. Unfortunately most people don't know these things because history is so undervalued in this country. I also find it interesting that people from both sides of the aisle are so quick to snap, "Our founding fathers never meant for this!" when George Washington's farewell address warned against forming political parties and said that it would destroy our country. Derp?
  15. I think it's not that more people are changing political parties and more likely that political parties are beginning to change. It happens every few hundred years, actually (today's democrats were originally called the republican party when it was founded in 1791-- not the one we know today, as the GOP actually began in the 1850s). Particularly in regards to social issues, rather than financial. There's always been a financial divide in the U.S and that actually hasn't changed much. Sorry for bringing the srs bzns into what's obviously not a srs thread, I just thought Beer brought up an interesting point.
