  1. Other mods seem to be completely incompatible with 1.6.4's recommended Forge version. EDIT:Why must I misread things.
  2. I find it utterly hilarious that Redstone in Motion is immobilizing that buggy. 1.6.4 compatibility seems fine. I wasn't able to test mod interaction due to numerous incompatibilities with the new forge version, though. Also, is it intended behavior that a motor/engine doesn't move frame carriages on more than one side? I can't remember discussion on it in this thread. EDIT:link to Moon Buggy page
  3. Rumors? It's on their own news page that they're going to sell FTB brand merchandise and open a store for mod authors to sell merchandise. I'll go load up 1.6.4 with just about every publicly released mod I feel like using and that works with the forge version for 1.6.4 (sadly no MPS. it complains about noclassdeffoundexceptions on launch for things it obviously has. Suspect a simple build error since it's a recent experimental build), build a few ridiculous things in creative, and see how it goes.
  4. Server X runs GregTech with recipe altering and changes recipes to keep the good parts of GregTech (they're there, buried underneath many unnecessary slowdowns), but make it easier. Almost guaranteed drama once Greg notices. Oh, so it requires the files to be manually added after they're made? I was thinking this would be something where as long as you had the permissions, you could put in the recipe and it would automatically show up next time the server restarts, which would mean privileged players below Ops would be able to use it. I was thinking it was more complicated/convenient.
  5. That was Hephinator and it was "Did she [Eloraam] promise you all blowjobs?" It was tilted from insinuating that the love for Eloraam was as intense as if a sexual favor was on the line into something sexist, but I don't see how they could've misattributed it so badly while also making an entirely new misinterpretation, so Vauthil was probably talking about something else. Hmmm, recipe altering sounds like it will lead to some drama, but if server admins are wise they should make it Ops-only and it would solve situations where a recipe is impossible to satisfy and normally NEI cheating has to be done for every recipe use (Dire's Forgecraft 2 server as an example where this happens a lot).
  6. I'm certainly able to contact Vauthil via the "start a conversation" button when I click on his name, but I'd really rather not anger the beast again and it appears he's just being the (probably misinformed) messenger for Slowpoke. If they disabled your PM ability on the forums, then I suppose that would explain why they're lock-happy whenever you show up. Can't have a discussion if noone can talk. That's the end of my last shred of respect for the FTB team gone.
  7. I'll ask politely on the FTB forums and see if there's even a chance. Hopefully the mods won't immediately shoot the thread down (quite likely I think, and would be very telling about their attitudes in a very bad way) and things stay relatively civil. EDIT: Quick reply from Vauthile indicates that the official reason is worries about mod interaction. Jakj, you should talk to Slowpoke about the work you've been doing on mod interaction (and don't worry too much about GregTech interaction, there's a separate FTB pack for GregTech already). Sure, it could just be a pretend reason, but it's enough to hope that FTB users will be getting RiM in the Unleashed pack by default one day.
  8. The different order of diamond and emerald for drives and capacitors might be confusing, but it looks good otherwise.
  9. I think such a small increase in volume per tier isn't worth the materials. One diamond-tier carriage would be almost equivalent to 8 iron-tier carriages, and iron is extremely cheap even in vanilla Minecraft.
  10. I'm not sure I understand. Why would ten tiers make for more compact designs? I think that even a three-tier could easily deal with compactness.
  11. This might make it in FTB, actually. Their current packs are pretty much frozen for 1.5.2 while they're waiting on the 1.6.2 mods to reach stable releases, and it's on their suggested 1.6 mods list and hasn't been officially rejected. It just needs a big push (like getting Dire to at least spotlight it even if he won't actually make a new DireUFO with it) I think. As for the the tiers, End stone is much less difficult to get when you can use Mystcraft to skirt the End exiting issue. Emerald's hit or miss on being easy or hard. Obsidian being lower than Diamond is puzzling, considering you put Obsidian before Nether Quartz because of needing Obsidian to get to the nether, since you need Diamond to get Obsidian. It also seems like there's too many tiers of carriages. Ten is a bit ridiculous. Perhaps carriages could be limited to structurally strong things (Wood, Stone, Iron, Obsidian, Nether Quartz, End Stone) while Drives and Capacitors go through more "tech-like" minerals (I would list them, but it's the same list of materials you came up with in the same order).
  12. Amazing mod. I'd use this even if RedPower suddenly walked out of its grave. The frame airship I made when I played a modified FTB ultimate pack was extremely counterintuitive. Needed to go through a step-by-step video to get the inchworm drive built and the default 1000 block limit made even a slightly big UFO impossible (luckily it was a server with just a small group of friends so I got him to double the limit). Can't say I like the huge wood requirement, but I suppose I'll be able to stop using support carriages when I get around to using a stevescarts wood farm.
