i forgot to mention i get this error code after about a minute Connection Lost Internal exception: jave.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed

When i join my friends server, i can play with out any lag or anything but when we turn on a device (it harvests sugar can and sucks them into the condenser the automatically converts them to red matter) i can't open and interfaces except my inventory and no chunks load a round me aside from maybe 10 blocks from where i was. when i disconnect and rejoin i fall through the world and no chuncks load at all. the problem is fixed when the device is turned of. i was wondering if there is anything that should do to fix this problem.
