After a bit of experimenting, found that the texture pack i was using was causing the issue. Could probably of been solved by using windows 10 though.

Decided it is most likely a driver issue and will now upgrade to windows 10 and buy a graphics card.

optifine is part of tekkit classic though? I never installed it separately.

Still no better. Just thought that by giving it 8gb, it could use as much as it needs. And opening links on servers freezes it for a while too.

When playing, the client will randomly freeze, then after a few hours of playing, it will return to the launcher or just stay frozen until the pc is restarted. I have allowed the game 8GB RAM in the launcher settings. PC Specs: i7 6700k Intel HD Graphics 530 Xubuntu 15.10 16GB RAM
