I logged out using the "log out" option in the bottom right corner of the launcher window, and then relogged in. Now it is working. Not sure why I had to redo login, but I apologize if I have created some confusion.

I can login with minecraft vanilla 1.7.4. I and others were logged in last night via technic launcher. This morning, however, when I run the technic launcher, but before clicking play, right bottom corner reads, "my username" "Logout", indicating it has logged me in since it is using the correct username for minecraft instead of email. However, when I click play, it loads the minecraft window, I select the server, I click join, it returns an error, "Connection Lost Failed to login: Bad login".
