  1. SMP and SSP use completely different code. There is no way short of getting the source code of the mod and rewriting it yourself. In 1.3 SSP and SMP will use the SMP code, making it easier to make SMP mods. However this means all SSP mods will probably need to be rewritten in the process, so it will be a long process.
  2. We were getting a similar problem on a server I play on, something to do with the pipes not working when you log out, so the items just spill all over the ground causing heaps of lag. Try what DragnHntr suggested, that should clear things up.
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I've decided to wait a couple of days before I buy the server, because I'm currently in Hospital at the moment, and I've only just realized that the Hospital's wifi must block a port or something because I can't connect to Minecraft servers. So no point of me buying it now... It's sad because I wanted the server so I had something to do while I was in here XD. Oh well.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion. They seem to be good, tho they charge extra for support, and no Australian hosting sucks :(
  5. Yeah, I've looked at BeastNode, currently i'm weighing up the differences between them, Treepuncher and Hypernia. BeastNode does look great, but only US hosting like most others. Hypernia has hosting in the city i'm in, but are quite expensive I found one, https://secure.get-sourced.net/cart.php?gid=16 which seems to offer a great deal. My problem is it's US hosting, when I'd prefer Australian. Tho US hosted servers aren't too bad.
  6. Thanks, did you have any problems with crashing? Hmm, that doesn't sound good. I see that they claim to provide 48 hour trials, but whenever I try to apply for one they just say it's "sold out".
  7. Thanks, but if you had read my post you'd have seen that Treepuncher was the one I was considering ;D
  8. The server files haven't been released yet. Only the client files are available.
  9. Hmm, okay, thanks for the advice! I'll see what hosts I can find that offer that kind of memory.
  10. So, I know this is probably going to be a very vague question, but I'm looking at buying a dedicated Minecraft server for me and a few University friends. Probably going to be no more then 5-10 people online at any one time. Basically I had a few questions about buying a server, I did a search but couldn't find any of these answers here. 1. How much RAM should I be looking for in my server? Most hosts seem to suggest about 512MB for 10 people, but I'm not sure if Tekkit requires more then the reccomended. 2. Do I need to find a server host that specifically hosts Tekkit installs? I found one, Treepuncher, who charges extra for the Tekkit install, and doesn't show how much RAM they are giving me, but they have a host in Australia which I need. Or does any host that allow FTP mean I can install Tekkit myself? 3. Is there anything else I should know before committing to buying a server? I'm sure the good Technic community has advice they would love to share :D
  11. Well, since there are no server files for the 1.2.5 version of Tekkit, you'll have to wait for it to update.
  12. 3.x is using Minecraft 1.2.5, but there is no server version available yet.
  13. Thaumcraft is singleplayer only, I'm not sure about Zeppelin, check on the thread on Minecraft Forums.
