He has one and does log in but it still says that his credentials are invalid

Alright so my younger brother has run into a problem using the technic launcher. He has created an account with technic on the main website and downloaded the technic launcher but when he tries to log into his account it denies him and says that his credentials are unrecognized. Has anyone had this problem before? and is there any way to fix this or to make sure it does not happen to anyone again in the future?
