I've been having trouble loading modpacks with the launcher recently. I can load Tekkit without issue but when I try out other packs, specifically Hexxit and Voltz (two of my favorites!), they download fine and then get stuck at a gray screen and throw multiple exceptions to the console. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times and giving the launcher up to 5GB RAM without success. My current system Java is Java 8 Update 5 on OSX 10.9.3. My guess is that some mods don't support Java 8. If I could point the Technic launcher to a different JRE that would be great since I would like to keep Java 8 for other purposes.
