If you wanna come on my server and grief, at least own up when you're caught. Actions are logged. Plus there's a good chance I saw you grief with my own eyes whilst I was invisible. If you're jailed, just own up.

I ran a server for quite a while with full EE... things got a bit boring, no interesting builds happening. Rolled a new world at 3.1.3 (since downgraded back to 3.1.2) with EMC disabled - that is no Condensors, no Collectors and no Transmutation. So the PStone is still enabled, and so is just about everything else you can make in EE. It's a really fun balance. The first guy who made a legit flying ring really was the envy of everyone else.
At the change there were some people who said "well I'm leaving forever" so I simply bid them farewell. There were some of the community members that weren't really happy about it but they have since really started to enjoy the new feeling of accomplishment, even some of the previously EE-centric players are quite happy with the change now. And if people join now and complain that there is no EE, I simply tell them to find a different server to play on, or to stop complaining about it and play the game. And yeah, more complaining after that is often a ban.

Komm, what is stopping you downgrading your server? I did it with mine with only one small issue (a railcraft config that needed changing) that didn't take long to fix.
3.1.3 is a dog so far and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone unless they've already read and understood that 3.1.3 bug fixes thread in its entirety.

3.1.3 to me looks like a knee-jerk reaction to FTB being released. Foolish of the Tekkit team to push this release out. I know one person who updated, had his server crash immediately (probably a rotary macerator running somewhere) and had to make a new world back on 3.1.2 to get his server running again. Now he's a big dummy - I had the same problem but removed the advanced machines with MCEdit - but obviously not all server owners are tech savy enough for fixing errors when their server won't start. I know they say it's a development build but it's the file that's linked to when you go to the Tekkit tab on the main site.

So even in BC3, is there anything to stop unauthorized people messing with the diamond pipes? Someone logged on today to find all their items being 'sorted' into a lava pool.

Hello! Is there any way to make diamond pipes secure? Even with LWC and Towny, outsiders can still walk along and steal from the sorting system, or worse, mix items up. I tried adding the item id to the LWC config but that didn't work. People can also access teleport pipes and change frequencies, as well as changing ratios on distribution pipes.
I know that I could tell everyone to lock their pipes away in bunkers... but that's not an ideal solution. Ideas?

3.1.3 has soooo many bugs. Using a Rotary Macerator for example crashes the server. Not sure who tested that update...There will be no update for now. We were actually on 3.1.3 and downgraded.

Also, make it faster and use more fuel not less.

Or run it from a Batbox (not LV Transformer) and it will use a max of 32 EU/t.

I've heard some server owners complain that larger map sizes increase lag, and that the further from spawn someone builds, the laggier it will be. Is there any evidence to support this?

i can confirm this is a dupe, found it out when player duped items using this method on my server before even seeing this thread
Also confirmed by an accomplice selling out the duper... Non-EE server and a guy had 9 stacks of Red Matter, same of Dark Matter.

How are people having difficulty with this? Download the server - take a note of which version you've downloaded. In the Technic Launcher, set Tekkit to that same build!

Yeah, that's what causes those errors, but that's not what is stopping him from connecting to his server.

Download the server files for Tekkit... set your client to the same version... play.

I had the same foresty errors and could connect just fine, so I think your problem lies elsewhere.

We're a friendly bunch. We play nice.We each have our own favourite mods and almost everyone on there likes to experiment with different mods that they haven't used before, and most people are happy to help others learn. You must know how to find item recipes in NEI or on a wiki though.
I'm a mature admin, too mature to take bullshit from kids as I'm sure a lot of the current regulars can attest to. The server IP is 123.2.111.253:25565 and we are up 24/7 (excluding emergency maintenance).
First though, there a few simple rules, the same ones you've probably seen elsewhere. And by joining the server you agree to play by the rules. The rules are open to change at any time and not knowing the rules is not an acceptable excuse for breaking them. Punishment for breaking a rule is most is dealt swiftly.
Rules
No Griefing
No Stealing
No Cheating - Xray, etc.
No Swearing or Offensive Language
No CAPS
No Spamming the Chat
No Killing other players. PvP is disabled, don't try to use other methods to harm players.
No Asking for Items
No Asking for Ranks
You must build at least 100 blocks away from other players.
Bnagers always has the final word.
Item Restrictions
EMC Is Off - No Energy Collectors, Condensors or Transmutation Tables.
No lag machines. A lag machine is anything that causes lag in any way, if you leave something unattended and it spills out items then it will be destroyed, with no reimbursement.
Banned Items
Possessing any of these items is grounds for an immediate ban.
World Anchors/Teleport Tethers/etc
Nukes/TNT/Nova Catalyst/etc
Destruction Catalyst/Cataclytic Lens/etc
DM/RM Furnace
Watch of Flowing Time
Rankings
You'll join the server as a Trainee. You still have most commands available: /home, /back, etc.
After a while you may be promoted to Intern for just being around, being active in chat and playing by the rules. The main thing you gain then is /tpa
Once you are an Intern you may apply on the website for a custom title. You don't get anything else with it, it's just a word in front of your name.
