Great, thanks are there any updates planned for Tekkit? Will I be able to save my progress on my server which is running the current version, when Tekkit is updated?
-
Thanks a lot for the replies guys very helpful. On a sidenote - is it OK to ask mod-specific questions here, or should I find the respective community pages for each mod and ask questions there?

Hello everyone, Inexperienced tekkit player here. I just set up a server with the standard Tekkit modpack on it, and I've decided to play around with AE a bit. I just can't quite figure out what version of AE is in the modpack - is it AE or AE2? I hope this question isn't misplaced.

CPU use rarely exceeds 40%.

It runs smooth for a while (30-60 mins), then it starts lagging. I never drop below 40 fps. No block break/place lag All chunks seem to load. In the distance, I can sometimes see chunks that are not loaded, but they eventually will when I get closer. I have from 100-400 chunks loading, is this as it should be? In the top right corner it says that I use around 1000 MB memory out of 2731 MB, but just below it states: "Allocated memory: 42% (1163MB)". The top line I can understand, but I do not understand the second one. Considering I'm not using all the memory I have allocated, it's doesn't seem to be memory related, does it? Thanks for helping out btw!

Hmmm okay, my hard drive is pretty fast, so that's not the issue either. I did a clean install of the modpack, and allocated 3 gigs of ram again. Still lag.

@disconsented - Can you explain what you mean by storage? Like the folder where my game is located? How do I fix/repair if that is the issue?

Thanks for your reply, I'll try it out I'm not sure it's going to work, though, as I up til recently had 3 gigs allocated, but I still lagged. Do you agree on my assumption that my PC should be able to handle it, or is the modpack more taxing than i first assumed?

I hope this is posted in the right place - if not, sorry! I just started playing the Technipack, but I have some lag issues in single-player (I have not tried multiplayer yet). I find it weird, as my PC has 8 gigs RAM, a 3570K and a GTX770. I have the latest 64-bit Java (and no previous versions installed), and I have allocated 7 gigs of RAM to the game, but to no avail. I am running everything on max settings, but surely I should be able to do so? The lag is not persistent, but comes in spikes. Any suggestions? EDIT: Maybe I should add that I am only running chrome in the background.

Hi everyone. First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong board - this seems like the right one though! 2 questions: I'm trying to find a way to craft better tools than the standard minecraft ones, but I can't seem to find them in the NEI, and googling sent me to the tekkitclassic-wiki most of the time, where I can find a "Diamond Drill", which is pretty much the type of tool I'm looking for. I can't find it in the game though (is this because IC is no longer included?) - so can you guys point me towards a "Diamond Drill" substitute? The different mods in the pack uses different energy sources - are there any compatibility between mods, or do I need different power sources for each mod? Cheers!
