actually they despawn when they spawn, i am confused now nvm i found the reason, i am using multiplayer in a server inside a town so mobs can't spawn ok thanks to everyone who helped me =D

I found out why it is not spawning, actually it is spawning but they despawn when i leave the room so yeah also on a side note how do you get mob essences to power an auto spawner

yes but nothing is spawning but the thing is spinning and not spawning

Ok, i brought a witch spawner to my house using a block teleporter and placed it in the sky inside a 9X9X4 box of cobblestone but it isn't spawning any witches, anyone know whats the problem?
