After I launch Hekkit, I am able to move around for like 5 blocks and then the in-game controls become completely unresponsive. I have tried uninstalling Hekkit and re-installing it, and that has not done anything for the issue. I have no issue with regular Minecraft or any other application.

what port(s) specifically does hekkit / technic use for LAN? (Is it that 25565 thing) and how would I verify that port i open since we are both running Webroot?

I am playing on a MacBook Pro, running OSX Mavericks and my fiancee is running Windows 8. My fiancee and I are trying to play together over LAN, (we are sitting right next to each other) but for some reason, I am unable to connect to any of her LAN worlds, but she is able to connect to mine. When she hosts the LAN connection, I can see the LAN world, but the connection always times out. I am confused as to why this is, and would like help figuring out what to do.
