As of the last update...you can now make the cooking for blockheads 2 book

You can mine out under most of the silver wood trees in a 13 block radius or so, without encountering any taint...if you set a waypoint at the tree center you can find it underground (and see it on your map) after that I use a pattern that is quick and efficient, and keep dropping down 4 blocks per level...

I also cannot find a way to generate cookbook for blockheads II (2). The first cookbook works with whatever you are holding but does not let you produce the cooking table to follow the quest line in the Instructor category...very frustrating....
