  1. The short answer, is no, you can't allocate more memory to a 32bit java process. You need a 64bit OS, either 64bit windows or a version of Linux (of which Ubuntu is one). No where do you actually say what your hardware is. You may have the additional problem of having a machine that isn't 64bit capable, it's unlikely as the machine would need to be ~10 years old, but not impossible

  2. Also if you use pneumatic redstone pipes you don't need all the different timers, just one connected to a pipe and jacketed wires to connected the pipes to carry the timer signal.

My smallest standard solar panel factory was 5x8x5 with the final 5 being height and 2 of those blocks being underground.

My current factory is bigger than that, but uses maglev pipes and accelerators and has a single pipe backbone with all objects color coded to go to the right place. Without the maglev pipe setup I'm sure I could get it smaller still with a shared backbone system.

Also, if you're going for speed, you'll want 2 extracters and 2 furnaces. you'll also want two tables making copper wire.

  3. Are you playing from the same machine as the server runs on? If so, it could be the firewall on the server itself. You mention unblocking the launcher but that has nothing to do with the server. Try disabling the firewall entirely on the server.

If you're not playing from the same server, does that server have normal internet access ok? Are DNS and it's gateway configured correctly?

  4. So, assuming it's output is pointing down (thats the side with the red dot), which it would have to be for any of these machines to work. Then the brown block below it is a LV transformer, because if it was a batbox it would have blown up.

So, if it's a LV transformer then you need to have the 3 dot side pointing up towards the MFE, otherwise you're no transforming it down to LV

  5. I you use permissions, you need to give the [buildcraft] user permission to break blocks, the simply way is to just op that user. Doing it properly involves setting up a rank with just the permissions the user needs.

Depending on what other plugins you have running there may need to be configuration for those too (factions and towny may require it if the quarries are on claimed land)

  6. The way I do that, is with a sorting machine that distributes whatever your source of EMC is (diamonds, diamond blocks, whatever) to all the condensers. You need to make multiple tiers though otherwise your low cost things (resin, glass, furnaces) get way too much. My middle tier sorting machine only pushes down one block and the rest it sends back to the main sorting machines

  7. The usual suspects would be:

You're using wire with too much loss for the distance you're trying to go.

You're using an EU meter to measure but there isn't anywhere for the power to go, or you're clicking on the panel itself.

Perhaps a picture of the setup, or at least a description to rule out some of the basics
