I've got the same problem I tried other modpacks and the same thing keeps happening. So I loaded vanilla through the launcher and the texture was fine there. However it didn't fix the problem so if you find a fix please do tell. For me I believe my problem is my java 11. I downloaded the launcher on a different computer and downloaded java 8 and it worked just fine.
