  1. I'm not exactly sure what it is you're trying to say -- without meaning to offend, your spelling makes it difficult to fully understand you.

I call it a "glitch" because I believe that's what it is. I am able to make power in normal ways, yes, and I do. But this particular section of my technology runs off a hydro plant I created which relies on that particular water function.

If anyone knows a way to solve this, it would be appreciated. It's making things rather annoying lately.

  2. Since I updated to Tekkit 3.1.1 water seems to be behaving differently. I have a few pumps using the infinite water trick to pump water and essentially create infinite energy.. but ever since I have updated to 3.1.1 the water appears to have become finite.

I notice my machines have no power and go to check the pumps to find that the water is missing.

Any suggestions? Or was the infinite water glitch fixed?

  3. Title: EnderStorage Error?

    Version: 3.1.1

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

    Java Version: Java 7 SE

    Description of Problem:

Whenever someone comes within proximity of a specific player's structure they receive this particular error and get disconnected. Through reading it I can understand that it has something to do with Ender Storage, but I'm no particularly sure how to solve it. Could someone help me out?

    Error Messages:

Can anyone help me out with figuring out how to fix this error? I believe it's caused by a glitch item located in a players home. Whenever the area is approached the person is disconnected with that error.

  5. You probably loaded your old world in a 1.2 client or server at some point, at which point it would have done an Anvil conversion and you would have both .mcr and .mca files for your world. Continuing to use the world with a 1.1 server, it'll keep updating the .mcr files, but when you upgraded to a 1.2 server, it's now pulling world data from the old .mca files, which are still left in the same state they were in back when the conversion happened.

Restore your world from before you did the upgrade, remove all the .mca files under your world directories, and then redo the upgrade.

This fixed the issue, thank you.

Ah, that could very well be the issue. I know I did try to update back when 3.0.3 was first released but decided against it.

edit: Also what Halibut said ^^^^^^^^^

When you say significant progress gone... do you mean ALL modded blocks are gone? Can you find any trace of modded items? If you can't its possible you aren't loading the server properly and its wiping all the modded items from the map.

That's what I thought at first, but I recognized things that would have only existed a few months ago in the server. Ex; smalls camps set up to build certain structures that are already complete in the modern time of the server.

    ----

EDIT: Should the .mca files be located right inside my world folder? If so, I'm not seeing any.

    Found 'em.

  7. Hey guys, I'm facing a rather odd issue. I have finally decided to update from Tekkit 2.1.1 to the current Tekkit version. I went back and followed all of the steps to updated to Tekkit 3.0.3, then jumped from that to Tekkit 3.1.1.. but it's doing something strange.

For some reason, when I log on to the server it is an older version of my world. I have checked multiple times and I am using the correct world file, but every time I update it the world is an older version with significant progress gone.

I'm not really sure what to post because I'm not getting any error messages that I've seen. Has this problem happened to anyone else? Does anyone know a potential cause/fix?

  8. Is the Citizens plugin compatible with Tekkit?

I added it and thing seem fine, except I'm unable to equip armour onto the NPCs. I'm not sure if this is due to Tekkit, or just some sort of issue with the plugin. No one is getting back to me on the Bukkit forum, so I figure I would try to find out if the issue could be because of Tekkit.

    Any help/suggestions?

  9. I believe I may have potentially found a way to get it to work.

I am running my 3.0.3 server with v8.6 of Balkon's Weapon Mod, and it has loaded fine.

I am also running my 1.2.5 client with Balkon's as well, I have connected to the server without receiving the previous error. I can also see all of the weapons inside of NEI.

I will explain what I did, if anyone wants to they can scan it for potential errors I am not noticing.

    1. Downloaded the Bukkit version Balkon's Weapon Mod v8.6 & the client files.
    2. Placed the 'BalkonsWeaponMod1.2.5.jar" inside the "mod" folder for the server.
    3. Ran the server, it loaded Balkon's properly. There was now a 'weaponmod' folder containing it's properties file inside the server's 'mods' folder.
    4. Placed the 'WeaponMod.rar' and 'weaponmod' folder clients that I downloaded inside '.techniclauncher\tekkit\mods

[This was where I was before, trying to log in at this point caused the 'Weird String!' error]

    5. I copied the properties file from the client version of Balkon's and replaced the server's properties file with it, so that they were the exact same.

    6. Things seem to work.

Now, that's as far as I am. I can equip the weapons, use them and craft them without any sort of problem. As far as my untrained eyes go, it looks like it works.

**EDIT: People are also able to connect to my server without issues.

  10. Just being blunt mate, not trying to bust on you as much as you may think. I hope you find the help and we can get it working because I enjoy that mod myself. However, I'm just not willing to put in the time and effort because I don't enjoy it 'that much'.

It's fine, I understand. I can understand you not being all that concerned with it. If by some chance I do find a solution I will let you know.

Well look at that! You found the reason it wasn't included in Tekkit 3. Good on you.

I assumed the Tekkit Forum would be a bit more open to people who are generally unfamiliar with things or seeking advice. Hostility and sarcasm aren't exactly necessary, especially from the staff. There's a reason why I started the topic; because I'm curious and unsure on the matter. I will attempt to deal with this myself, be it successful or not.

Thank you Iscamania and AlienX for assisting me up to the point I'm currently at. This topic can be closed, I'm done.

  11. Well, I suppose this topic was more so directed at the one or two people who may be able to help me, then. With that being said, I appreciate the assistance that I've received up to the point I'm currently at. I will continue to try to find a way to make it work.

I understand that it has issues and that is the reason that it wasn't included in Tekkit 3. However, I'm still curious to find a way to get it working. If anyone has any helpful information on the matter it'd still be appreciated. I'm not looking to 'have my hand held', just advice since I'm not exactly a professional. However big or small.

  12. Oh, thank you.

I added the new .jar to the mod folder as it said and the server now loads correctly (from what I see, I scanned through the command prompt and saw no errors). Then I added the client files into the mods folder for the client (in the Tekkit folder of the .technicpack), but when I try to connect to the server I get

"Received string length is less than zero! Weird string length!" in my client. Though I do connect, and the server says I connected fine but then lost connection due to an end of stream. For a brief milisecond I do hear the noises of MC on the client.. so this seems to be the only issue as of now.

    Any help?

  13. Okay, I downloaded a brand new Tekkit 3.0.3 server file. I ran it, it worked fine.

I added the "[3]Weaponmod_bukkit" .rar file and the "weaponmod" folder from the mod folder of Tekkit 2.1.1 to the mod folder of the new Tekkit 3.

This time I got this error:

  14. Well, I added the mod to the "mod" folder and also added the config file for the weapons mod. After doing that the server seemed to boot up fine.

The issue seems to be people connecting client side. I'm not entirely sure, I'm rather new to hosting a Tekkit server. When trying to connect to the server I get an "End of Stream" error, and this is what shows up on the server.

The reason I didn't add the error initially is because I wasn't looking for a fix to what I did, I assumed I had previously done it wrong. I was more so looking for an explanation on the proper way to do it.
