  1. Is there a way to see the currently rendered world as a whole? Mei's Minimap helps, but it can only show so much in the local vicinity. I've attempted to use Cartographer G, but that didn't work whatsoever. Is there anyway to do so?
  2. VideoBoy, silly silly you. No, my whole computer did not crash because of Tekkit. My computer has conflicting drivers that will clash here and again. This is merely due to outdated ones, and the fact I have "mismatched" RAM cards. The problem is hardware, not software. This computer, the beast that it is, can handle any game on the market for another 2 years with ease. The computer hosts the server as well, being packed with RAM and processor power. Go me! The server was having the error, not being able to load a GZIP format. Yes, deleting one file was the magic fix for the server. The computer just needs some new drivers, and the blue-screens, those rare beasts of Windows, will stop. Thanks for the concern though.
  3. [FIXED] - The error was caused by a corruption in the railcraft.dat file in the server's world (could another name, depending on host preference) file. Deleting it and rerunning the server fixed the problem.
  4. [WARNING] Error loading Railcraft Save Data: Not in GZIP format. Above you can see the error I get just about every three seconds on the server. Aside from driving me balls insane, here's the story behind it: Hokay. So, I'm building all nonchalantly on my own server, getting ahead of the crowd a little bit and putting the finishing touches on my fortress. As I'm walking away from my fortress, I blue-screen. Being "the server" as well as "the player," I know I'm going to get a problem of some sort. I have no idea what the blue-screen was for - it's most likely some service exception from outdated drivers. Computer reboots, I do a quick error check, and restart the server. The warning, shown in bold above, is now repeating itself again... and again... and again... in intervals of three seconds on the dot. Everything else loads PERFECTLY, without a hitch - except this one Railcraft save data. I would fix it myself, but I have no idea where the file is! If anyone has any help regarding where I can find the Railcraft save data and possibly fix this sucker, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  5. [FIXED] Perfect. Running in Command Prompt properly. My appreciations! [Mild Edit] - Yes, it was a PATH error. Who woulda guessed? -Zealapeal
  6. AHEAD OF TIME: I've been browsing this forum looking for a "Technical" board for quite some time and I personally haven't found it at all. If I am in the WRONG SECTION, let me know and redirect me. Please. ... Like, please. Basic Information: Windows 7 x64 bit, enough RAM to run a server on my own machine without use of exterior server, overwhelming processing power, and running Java 7. My Problems in a Nutshell: I can't find where to start. There is NO information WHATSOEVER that I've found AT ALL on how to get a Tekkit server started from scratch, which is what I need to do. A server. From scratch. That runs Tekkit. <----- Problem in the biggest nutshell ever. Most tutorials I've run into say, "Download this, throw it in the random server you must have, go. Have fun." How the hell am I supposed to work with that? Am I supposed to already have my own 'server' so to speak? On Minecraft.net, you can either download Minecraft_Server.exe which creates a server for you. Do I need that as my "base component" before advancing? Also, I've downloaded the Tekkit server pack 3.0.3 thus far. It gives me a few files, and a launch.bat. I've run standard Minecraft servers before, and I've created one of these bat files on my own. It's in my instinct to click it to run the server. Problem is, I get the lovely error of: C:\Users\SupremeRuler\Desktop\Tekkit_Server_3.0.3>java -Xmx3G -Xms2G -jar Tekkit.jar nogui 'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. C:\Users\SupremeRuler\Desktop\Tekkit_Server_3.0.3>pause Press any key to continue... Is that normal? I've read every guide I could get my grubby little fingers on and I don't understand a bit of it. Why? I don't have the starting materials. Why? It was never explained to the absolute newbie at this. TLDR Summary (Which This Isn't Long at All, By The Way): Where do I start when starting from scratch (meaning, absolutely NO components to ANYTHING related to servers WHATSOEVER are downloaded on my machine), what do I download, how do I install it, and where do I see my server GUI? My Appreciations Ahead of Time, -Zealapeal, The Newbie Private Server Owner
