Title: steam engine troubles in smp

Description of Problem:
me and a friend have been playing on a tekkit server of his and recently we came around to create a quarry and power it.
however for some reason if we place coal cokes in our steam engines, they do not work.
they don't even start their animation or burn any of the cokes. but for some reason, they work fine with regular coal and they work with cokes in spp.
what we are wondering about is how we can alternatively fix this, if the ability for steam engines to run from coal cokes was not removed for smp that is, but we used to use coal cokes in steam engines.
the operating system/ java version mentioned above are all his.
if it is needed, mine are Windows Vista 32bit
