Even if the Quarry broke still looks funny!

Hey everyone just new and trying to use all these good mods . But like the the title I'm curious when I use the launcher my minecraft is 1.1, just curious if this is normal. And I've tried searching (cause I'm not a complete idiot) but I haven't found a correct thread that answered the question directly. Anyway thanks!
