I went through a portal between two pillars of stone bricks, which took me to 2 intersecting corridors with iron doors, outside was the same substance the portal was made of (sort of blue/ light blue swirly stuff). Being curious, I broke the door and stepped into the stuff, when I did it teleported me to a world with no lighting, a huge red eye in the sky, and huge floating dominoes with eyes that open if you look at them. If they open fully, you are teleported to somewhere else in that world.

Description of Problem:
Okay, so I'm back after about 1 year of not playing Technic Pack, so I reinstall everything, get Sphax and Optifine in there, go to load my first world aaaaaaaaaaand it freezes. It seems to freeze permanently, saying building world, or loading world or something like that, no loading bar, it stays like that. However using Mac equivalent of Task Manager, it is still responding

If they have forestry on their server, then its all good, if they dont, then that may be why you cant connect.

Try redownloading the launcher and clearing the cache, if it was trying to connect to minecraft.net then it wouldnt be at the mojang screen, it would still be on the launcher screen.

This thread has got a lot more people on it than I expected. And I also expected most of you to have bought it in Alpha/Beta and not recently.

I was actually Pre-alpha. I first took notice before the In-Dev version came out.
I still think the most fun i've ever had with it was back in infdev, when multiplayer had just been added.
How many bugs/glitches did it have back then?

Because everyone here must know the game well, did most people get it in Alpha? Or did you jump on the bandwagon and get it after the end of Beta? Myself, I got it around Beta 1.5-1.6.

I beg to differ. "1.4" is clearly a modifier for "tekkit or technic", like how "dong princess" refers to the "princess of dongs" and not "princess sally who is good friends with sir dongs".
If he meant minecraft 1.4, he would have said that.
It's sad really. He's obviously a victim of a random time portal, thrusting him months into the future.
He's too disoriented to realize he replied to an august 2012 thread instead of an august 2011 one, and doesn't know technic and tekkit have gone way beyond version 1.4...

1.4? Why would you want to know ancient history? Technic is already 7.6.2 recommended release, and tekkit is 3.1.3
Technic/tekkit 1.4 was so long ago it predates the launcher.
I think he means Technic/Tekkit for Minecraft 1.4.whatever.

If you have more than 3 brain cells, judging on application becomes a norm. I dont need to have met him, the fact he got banned from the forums and that he couldn't post anything in the correct format at the top of the page tells me that he either lacks attention or doesn't care. The fact that you fail to acknowledge this and instead say that he is what your looking for, when he hasn't put anything that gives you an idea of his character or his knowledge, is quite questionable since everyone else managed to do so.

And by the way, if he did one of the poorest applications I have ever seen and got accepted, that leaves me curious as to why no-one else was. Im removing my application, as I dont want my rep on the forums going down with the likes of you and Staer111, even if I was accepted and you weren't.

I wanted to play TF2, got steam, and saw all of the awesome games. And really, without torrenting things, would you really be able to get games as cheap (from one place that is)? Btw did anyone else take advantage of the autumn sales on it. Civ 5 for £5. If I hadn't have torrented it, I would have bought it straight away.

Personally, I do, using an IPod touch app, but how many of you guys take the time to personalise your character, instead of sticking with the top downloaded one that looks ok, but doesnt suit you. Anyway, heres mine.
