  1. Applying For: Any staff position

    In-Game Name: I_Orion_I

    First Name: Ash

    Age: 18

    Country: United Kingdom

Position Experience: I use to run ElevationCraft which was the top tekkit server for 4 months.

Proof of Experience (Pictures, IP etc.): Check the forums and TekkitServerList

Servers you are currently a Staff Member on: -

Previous Servers you have been Staff Member on: ElevationCraft, TekkitCraft, Chillax

    Previous Bans:

    Additional Information:

  2. I have a slight problem with this, when someone uses a EE tool to try and destroy in someones faction land console gets spammed with

    -Slot changing (0)

    -Slot changing (1)

    -Slot changing (5)

    -Slot changing (2)

And so on with loads of other random numbers, as I'm currently running a popular server with 150 players, if about 20 players try to use the EE to destroy in faction land, it crashes the server.

  3. This is an old thread, however it's one of the main results for Google. So here's the final answer on how to resolve this. As you can see, it mentions "[buildcraft]" in the nocheat, it means this "user" as it is identifying it is trying to place blocks out of Minecrafts default reach. To fix this, add the nocheat bypass permissions node to the user "[buildcraft]" (without quotes.)

    or

    Simply op the user "[buildcraft]"

    Problem Solved.

I solved this a very long time ago, but thank you for still trying.

  4. So it would be like modifyworld.blocks.place.{item ids here}???

Yes, that would stop people placing the blocks.

If you do Modifyworld.items.have(Item ID's here) then it'll take the items from them

    You need the brackets though.

  5. As above, no permission is needed - the LGPL license grants you the right to modify and redistribute modified versions as you see fit, so long as you follow the terms of the LGPL license.

My point about asking for patches instead of forking your own version was more to do with benefiting the maximum number of people. If your changes are pulled into the main branch of the Factions code, then that benefits everyone (not just the people who happen to find your special, custom version.)

I didn't intend to imply that what you were doing was actually wrong in a legal or ethical sense.

    My $0.02.

My mistake, I thought you was trying to pin this on me saying that what I did was unethical and shouldn't be allowed without any kind of permission. I do understand where you're coming from with forking it on Github, I also still have to Ticket submitted to MassiveCraft asking about maybe accepting my patch for Tekkit, so untill they reply, I think I'll just release it here, until I get a reply back from them, then tomorrow I'll fork it on Github.

  6. Right you are.

However, since it's on Github, surely the better way to release your custom version would be as a Github fork? This would let us see what changes you made (plus, if your changes are any good, they might be pulled back into the main branch of the Factions plugin.)

Then I shall look into releasing it as a Github fork. I was just simply doing this as it might have been faster. But now because of you two, I have now contacted the owner of MassiveCraft asking for permission to release this file, and until I get a reply, I will not release it due to people thinking it's virus' even with links provided of scans.

  7. In ModifyWorld config, change what you have to this instead

    n enable: true

    informPlayers: true

    itemRestrictions: true

    whitelist: false

    messages:

prohibitedItem: You have prohibited item "%s".

whitelist: You are not allowed to join this server. Goodbye!

permissionDenied: Sorry, you don't have enough permissions

    use-material-names: false

    drop-restricted-item: false

    item-use-check: false

    check-metadata: true

Then once that is done, go to PermissionsEX and start filling it out like you would with GroupManager, but you HAVE to have this otherwise the group cannot talk

        - modifyworld.chat

Okay to black list items use you'll need to use this.

        - -modifyworld.blocks.place.(ItemID'sHere.)

        - -modifyworld.items.have.(ItemsID'sHere.)

With this you can use wild cards, this means that all items in the sub set of the meta tag will be removed as well, so for an example, like this.

        - -modifyworld.blocks.place.(30208:?*|27589:?*|30174:?*|27575|27584:?*|27574:?*|27533:?*|137:3|150:1|27579:?*|27580:?*|27581:?*|27582:?*|27570:?*|27538:?*|27573:?*|27530:?*27532:?*|27593:?*|126:4|126:10|126:11|126:3|27531:?*|27583:?*|27530:?*|27570:?*|27527:?*|27556:?*|27555:?*|27532:?*|27534:?*|127|169|6361|7303|237|155|26522|4304|179|214|30214|30215|27594|26524|4095|26525)

        - -modifyworld.items.have.(30208:?*|27589:?*|30174:?*|27575|27584:?*|27574:?*|27533:?*|137:3|150:1|27579:?*|27580:?*|27581:?*|27582:?*|27570:?*|27538:?*|27573:?*|27530:?*27532:?*|27593:?*|126:4|126:10|126:11|126:3|27531:?*|27583:?*|27530:?*|27570:?*|27527:?*|27556:?*|27555:?*|27532:?*|27534:?*|127|169|6361|7303|237|155|4304|26522|179|214|30214|30215|27594|26524|4095|26525)

This should be all you need to get you started, but other than that, all permissions work the same way as GroupManager, apart from PermissionsEX reads from top to bottom.

  8. So hello everyone on Technic Forums, as many people running Tekkit server's seem to be running Factions, just like myself I am running Factions, I am wondering, if anyone would like to join me and Decompile Factions and recode it as at the moment, Crystal Chests/All other chests, and all of Tekkit items are not safe in claimed land, this should be a rather easy job if anyone would like to join me on this.

  9. Hello there, this may be the problem of using the latest version of Factions, it's not designed for the same build that Tekkit is using, if you're running Tekkit 3.0.4, use a beta build of Factions, if you're using Tekkit 3.1.2, use the dev build of Factions.

  10. Remove the plugin, there is no anti-cheat plugin that would like Tekkit. Also read this http://www.technicpack.net/forums/threads/so-you-got-yourself-a-tekkit-server.11260/

I have read that a few times, I realise that it says no to use NoCheat, but as you can even see from my picture. I have myself a hacked client in the top left 'Cheater' there are many clients for Tekkit now that let players no clip through anything and if they use this while on a normal chest it can and will duplicate the items inside.

  11. Who ever is hosting that server dose not have the permissions setup right. They need to grant build crafts fake player permission to place and destroy blocks. This also can be due to a badly configured anti cheating plugin that thinks build crafts fake player is cheating and their fore is blocking/baning him.

Note the way build craft works is that it uses a fake player entity to interact with the world in order to work with permission plugins. Which allows server operators to block people from being able to build a massive quarry over a town to grief it.

So how would I set this up so that it lets the Quarry work?

  12. Well first of all, I would change it so it's like this

    - -modifyworld.blocks.place.(30208:?*|27584:?*|27574:?*|27533:?*|137:3|150:1|27579:?*|27580:?*|27581:?*|27582:?*|27570:?*|27538:?*|27573:?*|27530:?*27532:?*|27593:?*|126:4|126:10|126:11|126:3|27531:?*|27583:?*|27530:?*|27570:?*|27527:?*|27556:?*|27555:?*|27532:?*|27534:?*|127|169|208|237|128|27594)

    - -modifyworld.items.have.(30208:?*|27584:?*|27574:?*|27533:?*|137:3|150:1|27579:?*|27580:?*|27581:?*|27582:?*|27570:?*|27538:?*|27573:?*|27530:?*27532:?*|27593:?*|126:4|126:10|126:11|126:3|27531:?*|27583:?*|27530:?*|27570:?*|27527:?*|27556:?*|27555:?*|27532:?*|27534:?*|127|169|208|237|128|27594)

When you're using the wild care for the meta data do ID:?*

When I was using PermissionsEX and when I used the modifyworld.craft it wouldn't stop people from crafting the items, so I used the RecipeRepo plugin to stop the items being crafted and then the blocks.place and items.have to stop them actually having the items just incase they were craftable...
