  1. See: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/something-about-this-tells-me-something-is-wrong.106014/ This is not related to any plugins, you can get this error without any plugins loaded. "Nothing wrong, just the auto-updater feature is a little broken right now due to issues on dl.bukkit.org." A workaround is to set this: auto-updater: enabled: false In your bukkit.yml, which will turn off the auto-update feature. (Edited to fix formatting)
  2. I've been using a variation of that on a x64 CentOS server too. It saved me a LOT of trouble and quite a bit of money as it allows the server to run well with alot less memory used. Highly recommended.
  3. Re: Only Tekkit servers are refusing to connect. Check this post from the front page: http://www.technicpack.net/still-not-working/ wich is also related to this post http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4922.0.html Done reading it? ok... So basicly start by disabling your firewall atleast, preferably BitDefender compleately and then try to connect. Make sure to allow the Tekkit Launcher access to the internet in BitDefender. Also try the executable (.exe) version of the launcher and make sure it's allowed past the firewall and any other software that may limit it also. Note that Java is actually the process that is running Minecraft so you should also allow java.exe through the firewall. It is located in your java directory. You should be able to find java.exe at this path (assuming your Windows installation is on the C drive): C:\program files\java\jre7\bin Since your at it, you might aswell add javaw.exe to the allowed list. The Vanilla Minecraft launcher uses javaw.exe but it seems the Technic Launcer uses java.exe, atleast in my case.
  4. Oh yes, it's that annoying "too long" error everyone's talking about these days. I've never been able to deal with it, but I don't follow fashion these day's anyway. But I heard there is some help to be found at the following link: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4903.0.html
  5. Provision Host is working well for me. Quick run down of what you get that I can think of right now: Free subdomain. Free access to McMyAdmin Enterprise (with all but the lowest server subscription). Root access to your server running CentOS tweaked for MC. Java 1.7 installed. Apache2 installed. Bandwith, CPU and Memory usage charts with the ability to restart the server instance through their web page. MC server auto starts when the server is started (unless you disable it) SSH, FTP and SFTP access Anything else you like as long as it's minecraft related since you have root access to setup and configure the server in any way you like. I like using the SSH console with Putty so I fetched and built from source htop to monitor usage, modified the webserver, set up dynmap and did a few more tweaks. It's almost like running a server from your own home (wich I did before) except you don't choose the operating system and you don't have physical access to it. Subscription changes are very fast and automatic it seems (I could see the increase in memory jump up dynamically in htop through both of the upgrades I've gone through and they were done within the hour after immediate payment). Server locations are in the US, Canada and UK. Their staff has also been positive and helpful in their communication so all in all they are a host I feel safe in recommending without having reservations.
