Not a lot of that meant much to me, whilst not being computer illiterate java and the way it operates is foreign ground to me, any solutions on the horizon for my problem?

I do not have mountain Lion, I am running OSX 10.7.5 as I stated in my original post. The technic pack used to work fine then all of a sudden just stopped on day, one thing i noticed is that the java app that sat in my dock while i was playing used to say org.spoutcraft or something like that and now just says Main.

Weird thing is, I'm running in 32 bit mode yet the launcher will only open with a 64 bit version of java as the top priority... No matter what version is top priority while running in 64 bit mode, the launcher will not open.

I can still access java preferences, no matter what version of java has priority/ whether i boot in 32 bit or 64 bit modes makes no difference, It still doesn't work. If i have java 6 64bit as the top priority in java preferences, the launcher wont even open, I get a little cog turning in my system bar that when clicked on displays a box saying technic launcher workflow running. nothing else happens. only with java 7 as the top priority does the launcher ever load but then fails during mod installation.

do you know how to manually install java 7 32-bit on Lion?

Could it be something to do with a lack of Java 7 32 bit?

The ability to boot in either 32 bit or 64 bit mode is a standard feature of OSX Lion

I have no idea what dual booting is, after a google search it looks a bit OTT for the purpose of technic

I've tried every combination of Javas in terms of checking and un-checking and the order they are in, none of them work. Wineskin also doesn't work for some reason... I miss technic so much :(

Nope... now the launcher fails to even open, a little cog appears in my taskbar saying Technic Launcher Workflow Running... and nothing happens, If I use the CPU activity monitor I can see that a java process has initialised and is reportedly using 100% of my CPU. My java isn't entitled Java SDK 7 but Java SE 7, could this be the cause?
