Although it may have been that, I was not getting any messages about a failed update. I did look and I did not seen an problems where the launcher was stalling only on the logo, so I posted in this thread. Secondly, it is working for me now. Maybe next time don't be such an arse to the next person who has a problem, who looked through the forum already and wanted to report it.

I have got this problem as well. The launcher was working fine a couple of hours ago. Win 7 64bit with 64bit java. EDIT: Tried again a couple of minutes later and everything is working again.
