Where do maps created from the tekkit-launcher save to? I'm trying to give my friend one of my worlds, but i've no idea where the map files are.

Every time I've attempted to download the launcher, it brings up the "Downloading Launcher" box for a few seconds, and then closes. Nothing happens afterwards. I haven't a clue what could be wrong, and neither do my friends. Help please?
