Using the versions 5.4.6 for both .exe and .jar, (both were re-downloaded to test before this post. ) It gave the same error again. Also apologies for hijacking the OP's topic.

Yeah, the stright download works fine, i might try and bodge a quick java program to see if i can download it through that now. Edit: with a basic program in java it downloads the checksum fine.

Goto %appdata$\.techniclauncher and run the jar file in there. If you get 3 folders created (launcher;logs;temp) and a launcher properties file, and then it hangs on the splash screen, you have the same issue as I.

I also have the same, or similar problem to OP's. Here are the http://pastebin.com/hA4jFnm9"]Log files. This is the average log I get with using either the .jar and .exe files. Running Windows 7 64bit with java 6/7 (both give the same result). Not sure if the final hang on the splash screen is due to the failed download of the checksum? Through a browser the link is fine, but if I use the Launcher it seems to fail. (Have tried turning off all resemblances of firewalls.)
