Are you able to load the log in screen or is the error popping up before it loads?

If your launch.exe file is unchanged. Then it may be the Java. When I updated my Java, I ended up with Java 7 update 5 (32 bit). I had many issues that prevented me from launching a server properly. I ended up getting Java 7 update 5 (64 bit). You can find it by going on Google. I am not sure what programs you currently have on your computer (Such as Windows 7). Hopefully this was somewhat helpful.
