  1. Why wouldn't I want at least that much for my players? 16 a month (what I pay) is a damned good price. Yes, mob drops are available through other means. What about my other questions?
  2. My server has grown to be far more popular than I thought I have a 2gb server over on Exodus. I limited it to 8 players, of which I assumed I would have 4-5 on at most. 2-3 on a regular basis. Anyway, I posted some server pics on a forum I share with some good friends, and now they all want to play. I am trying to institute some guidelines for folks that play on the server, as I am really unsure if the 2gb is enough. There are times when I have one person on and I am running at 74% mem usage. Other times I have 5 people on and I am at 50%. So its real hit or miss. (CPU usage is generally 13%-20%, at most 30%) I have created a "Restart" procedure to run every night, but as that was just implemented, I cannot predict how it will impact performance. I am also looking at limiting the server mods. Its a peaceful/ survival server in that I don't allow mobs to spawn, but I also don't allow creative mode. We do have villagers and a village near the spawn (We got insanely lucky with our seed) I was hoping for some advice on what to remove (if anything), or what sort of processes you all as admins have in place for managing things. Tekkit servers seem to be far more complicated than normal Bukkit servers, so I am really unsure how to proceed to help my players out. The main mods I am looking to remove are ComputerCraft, Balkons Weapon Mods, and maybe EE. Thank you for your time!
  3. Fixed it, apparently it was a really bad install That being the case I have no idea how we were still able to play, but yea, there it is
  4. Does an AFK booter come as a mod in Tekkit Server?
  5. Nope, still happening here is an example of the console log: 02.09 20:06:08 [Multicraft] cirathorn[m ran command Message of the Day 02.09 20:06:08 [Disconnect] User [AFK]cirathorn[m has disconnected, reason: unknown 02.09 20:06:08 [Connect] User cirathorn[m, IP unknown 02.09 20:06:08 [server] INFO list 02.09 20:06:00 [server] INFO [PLAYER_COMMAND] cirathorn: /afk 02.09 20:05:35 [AFK]cirathorn[m ran command Message of the Day 02.09 20:05:35 [Disconnect] User cirathorn[m has disconnected, reason: unknown 02.09 20:05:35 [Connect] User [AFK]cirathorn[m, IP unknown Its adding a [m to my username as well, which is bizarre Also, its treating this as a whole new "player" on the server, and is asking for new permissions and everything Also, also: Changed the Config.yml for Essentials to -1 for the AFK timeout, this also didn't change anything
  6. I stepped down my version to the one you said to use. Trying it out now. Thank you
  7. Just migrated from a Local server that my players were connecting to, to one hosted on an actual server. I have the standard Tekkit Server software running and then I dropped the Essentials pack on there. As the title suggests, my players and I are getting marked AFK when we are not actually AFK. What makes it worse is its not clearing the AFK status for any reason, and then it boots the player. My google search returned no real results that were even close to this, so I turn to you all. any thoughts or suggestions?
  8. Thank you! If you guys have any other suggestions please let me know. The server I rent has 2gb of ramm, which I thought would be enough for this as I only allow 8 players on at a time and rarely get above 3. Monsters are turned off, and I only really run TreeAssist and the Essentials mod pack.
  9. I didn't say Vanilla, One would be Craft Bukkit, and the other would be Tekkit
  10. Hello! So I have been playing Minecraft with my wife and son for about 2 months now. We have a Regular Craft Bukkit server, my wife is happy with it, but my son and I keep watching Tekkit/ Technic videos on Youtube and we want to play it. So we want to run two worlds on our server, one thats Craft Bukkit and one thats Tekkit. I have read this is possible, but I am not sure the easiest way to go about setting it up. Currently we only have one world, I removed the End and Nether area's. I had Skylands setup to run, but dropped it when switching server hosts. I had debated on just using MCEdit to cut out the work we have done and dropping it into a purely Tekkit area, but we have done so much that MCEdit chokes on loading the world and I am sick of trying to get it to work. You all are far more experienced at this than I am so I was hoping to learn what would be the easiest way to handle this would be to setup and manage. (Or if I should even bother doing it) Thank you for your time!
