Tested this on a fresh vanilla server and we're getting the same problem.

Yes, I changed both of us to OPs and even tried it in creative mode.

Title: Immutable chunks Version: 3.1.2 OS: Windows 7 64 bit Java Version: Most recent Description of Problem: This happened on both my server and my brother's, often times, chunks are immutable. As in no blocks can be destroyed or placed within these chunks. The world renders fine it's just these chunks can not be changed. We can walk through them but not actually alter them.
