I recently started a small server just to play with a few friends, but that has gotten kinda boring/old and wanted to branch out into a server where i could interact with more people and learn more about Tekkit. It's because the player box is 2 blocks high. The level it shows you at is the block you're standing on/in (255) while you're head is in block 256.
