Be sure to set a waypoint at spawn (press c then enter spawn) and go 500 blocks from spawn before building your base. Quarrys must be 1000 from spawn. I do suggest a mystcraft world for quarrys...

Be sure to press c, type "Spawn" and save a waypoint to spawn then go at least 500 blocks in any direction before building and 1000 blocks before quarry's on the surface.
