My only problem with long dungeons is storage, which can be solved by many big backpacks. The content I enjoy. I feel disappointed if they're too short. -
That's more efficient I suppose, I tend to have more fun with larger more elaborate dungeons though.

Why specifically pirates for electric?

Better put unbreaking on it though or they run out really fast.

It's very common in the upper levels near the surface in hexxit. I wouldn't go too deep for it like in vanilla.

It consumes a 'reagent' to combine with a block to produce more of that block. The more expensive the thing you duplicate, the more you need. I wouldn't call it a mining replacement, but certainly very useful. It's not equivalent exchange though.

The teamspeak channel is one of most enjoyable I've been on in a long time.

Just make a big flat area of grass and light it up, you'll get chickens pretty fast.

Wolf is good too though, you can use that to level your mcmmo taming.
