  1. So, Pokemon GO just launched in Europe. I wasn't really interested, until I saw that my towns water tower is a gym. I obviously need to be in control of said gym, so here we go min-maxing! (I really have no idea how it works, but apparently casual cannibalism is the way to victory). Oh, and Turkey had a kind-of-not-really coup and their leader now wants to go on a killing spree whilst blaming the west and being cheered on by Putin. Fun times.
  2. No, I'm just shit at budgeting and somehow came ahead this year. Can't have that now, can we? That's actually a really good point. Though now that I've seen that I might be able to afford the "best" it's kinda hard to let go of that mad dream
  3. Yeah, gyms and centers have been placed in a lot of shady places, unfortunately. I wonder what the process for choosing places is. Oh btw, does this seem like a good build to you guys?
  4. Well sure, but why limit it to when you're going to sleep? You might be dying every nanosecond for all you know. (...do you listen to the Hello Internet/watch CGPgrey or do you just have good timing?)
  5. What kind of attitude is that? I only slept an hour this night because my sleep schedule was rather crap after midsummer but work was still a thing, and I feel fine!
  6. I've heard a surprising lot of this and I can't understand the logic. And yes, with such a small margin it'd be good to have a revote, I'd guess the voter turnout would be much greater (and they'd be forced to not fuck over UK:ers outside the UK). I just hope this at the very least shines some light on the dangers of voter apathy.
  7. Got paid 11.20€ to rollback a Windows 10 installation today. *writes down IT-admin on my CV-skeleton* And yeah, the new ToZ looks good but not good enough to buy a TV+console for Man, VR is really coming along, isn't it? Too bad I'm not a fan of horror games, though I feel like VR horror would result in some broken headsets...
  8. Well, the only genetic "defect" I suffer from has to do with bone structure, and since I'm 20 years old genetic engineering couldn't fix anything (wait, is myopia hereditary?). Of course, being harder better faster stronger as well as being immune to cancer and ageing could always be a plus. I've generally stopped watching E3 stuff, but I must say I'm interested to see what VR stuff will show up, that technology is becoming amazing real fast.
  9. Points to consider: Age of the people posting (low), sample size we get from people posting (low) and amount of proof that high intelligence is strictly heritable (low). Even if intelligence is shown to be heritable and eugenics would make sense (which they currently absolutely do not) I'm inclined to treat it like the meat production problem; yes, maybe we could benefit from changing our ways drastically but a lab solution is pretty much around the corner so why bother. Anyways, kitty jail isn't really a platform for these kinds of politics (if any), so chill and/or make a new thread.
  10. That's very old news. I'd say the median age of people on these forums is 7 years old judging by the average reading comprehension. I realize this grey-on-white thing leads to a lot of errors, but that doesn't explain why people think off-topic means any topic. I'd recommend visiting the whale box if you want to see the créme de la crème And yes, I realize I'm in a glass house throwing rocks here
  11. So, summer is getting closer, and due to a renovation project I can't begin my summer job until the start of July, leaving me with a full moth of free time! Any ideas what I could do with this time? I'm wondering if I should take the opportunity to travel, maybe go interrailing, maybe just fly to a country or two. Limited budget, obviously, but I figure at least some lodging costs can be avoided through couch-surfing and maybe even camping (though that would mean I'd have to pack camping gear...) Does anyone here have any experience with cheapo travel, or know any good travel destinations? I'd probably stay within EU borders, but I'm interested in any travel experiences/destinations!
  12. I assume my contribution to the cause consisted of floating in the air for two minutes before dropping out due to connection problems, as is tradition? Also, if an internet hate mob delivers cakes to your front door I wouldn't recommend eating them,
  13. I'd at least swap out the i7 for an i5, very few games can actually make real use of the i7. Either way, I'd recommend waiting for the new generation of GPUs to come out before buying anything.
  14. 50 small programs that open at boot and report their state every few seconds? Seems like it'd be a bit of a resource drain. Also, surely real antivirus-programs don't let other programs just outright kill them? And any more cheeky ways of closing them down would be lost on a dummy .exe?
  15. "Don't believe anything you see on the internet.". Now they just need to do the same thing for voice, that'll be a breeze, right? But it'll happen eventually, and then we really really actually really can't trust anything.
  16. "Oh hey, I'll just sketch this up in autocad real quick" *3 hours and 50 snap problems later* "STOP SNAPPING TO THE DAMN ENDPOINTS! SCALE YOU TWAT! GO TO HELL YOU ANNOTATIVE FUCKWIT!" No idea how LTSCALE even works, but it solved one of my problems so whatever. At least you can write commands directly instead of selecting them from options, that's neat.
  17. From wikipedia: "Sublimation has also been used as a generic term to describe phase changes between solid and gas that avoid the liquid state without specifying the direction of the transition". I was taught in school that sublimation works both way. I don't know what you'd consider an official source on this. Some quick googling tells me you're correct, but no-one bothers to use it correctly. TIL.
  18. Jack Frost draws on your car when he's feeling creative.. Seriousy though, these patterns happen when the water vapor sublimates on the cold surface (same process as when snowflakes are formed). If you have high humidity it might condense instead (depending on temperature), which makes droplets that freeze into clear ice (as in your first pic). Alot of ice on cars is from snow that has melted from the cars' heat, though, and that won't (generally) form crystals.
  19. Google translate suggests it's chinese, so I think you're in the clear. But you're jinxing the arabic and indian spam! I know this has been brought up time and again, but is a post per day limit for new accounts out of the queston? Spamming wouldn't be that much of a problem if we didn't get 30 pages of it per bot per day.
  20. I recommend using Reddit to browse if possible. You'll miss a bit but you won't have to wade through r34 and tumblr crap.
  21. You seem to post about 60% of the art in that group? Also, there's a distinct lack of hands in that group
  22. I reckon it'll work like Minecraft, with map files that get bloated if you generate too much. I wonder how fast it starts taking up space...
  23. You should put a GoPro on your head and record such conversations. Your daily dealings seem a lot more...anime club-ish than mine. I did, today.scrub 45 minutes of Undertale vs Spacejam... ... why...
