This is a known bug in Minecraft. It's due to the way endians are handled on the old processor architecture. There is no fix, you'll just have to play with your sound off.

Less slots is the only real solution. If you need the player capacity, I recommend a different host with a higher or no bandwidth cap. I use CubedHost and they are very very good. However, I would do some serious Googling and find a hosting provider best for you.

DEFINITELY start with vanilla MC. Crafting recipes are second nature to me now, but when I was a n00b I had to go to the wiki page every time I needed to craft something. Learn the basics of Minecraft before you try to tackle Tekkit. Mod Edit: Banner removed. My very small server. We're pretty good at Tekkit. PM me if you want to be whitelisted.

Well, as a teenager my financial situation does not permit the purchase of a new computer. We have an intel mac, but it has serious hardware problems and has a full kernel panic every 20 minutes or so. I've tried everything to fix it, but no dice.

I don't know. This computer is a higher-end computer from 2005 and runs Minecraft at about 40 FPS, which impresses me considering it's age. I just am wondering if there is a way for me to force java to update, or if there are any working older launchers.

I've downloaded the Tekkit launcher, but it isn't supported on this architecture. I then tried the jar file because that works for regular MC. There is no update for Java available. Is there a way to manually update Java, or another way to get this to work?
