Creative Mode Crash

So i installed Tekkit today and set up a(LAN) server so me and my buds could play.I switched into Creative Mode to start building a house.When ever i tried to click on anything in the normal creative mode screen it would disappear.And then,when ever i would click on an item that i actually had in my inventory,I would get kicked from the server and this would come up:

"Disconnected by Server

Internal server error."

This has been happening since the dawn of tekkit. Go to survival mode to switch your items and use NEI to spawn items.
