Guest Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Hello all! This is Mauiman! I am having some trouble with installing a mod pack. This one in the following link to be more exact! http://bukkit.org/threads/inactive-edit-paintingswitch-v0-4-scroll-through-paintings-1185.24604/ I am trying to get it installed in the gameninja100's Single Player Commands with World Edit that was installed using the Tekkit launcher. I am needing some specific paintings and I just can't or don't want to keep battling out by killing my mouse buttons and even my tendons by trying to get the right painting. I am using a Star Trek style skin/resource pack and I have to use the selector mod so that way I can keep with a certain asthetic. Any help is deeply appricieated. -Alex
Technikky Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) THat link is not a modpack. Its a plugin a bukkit one Edited March 7, 2015 by Technikky
Technikky Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Also first you gotta find out what you gotta fix. As in what you know what the problem is first. Right now you dont even know what your looking for
Guest Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) Okay. I follow the generic instructions and such. But it keeps on making the game crash back to the launcher when it is starting up. Edit! I found the one that is supposed to go in to the Jar file. How ever the thing still crashes. I followed the instructions. Step 1 Navigate to the .jar file Step 2 Make a copy of the minecraft.jar folder (Just in case things go wayward.) Step 3 Open the minecraft.jar file via WinRar Step 4 Delete the Meta-INF file Step 5 Highlight everything in the mod zip/rar file Step 6 Drag Everything in to the minecraft.jar file. Step 7 Close the Minecraft.jar file Step 8 Run the Tekkit Launcher. Step 9 Start the mod pack. And even with everything I get it crashing and it just brings me back to the launcher. You're following instructions for a single player option. I for one haven't used that type of "instruction" set in a very long time. Anything directly into the minecraft.jar file by hand has so much potential for issues if you aren't careful. Second the link you gave in the first post shows that the project is INACTIVE aka dead, not being used or touched. Last post to the forum was in 2012 so I'm going to assume that's a fact. Also 2012.. means its a 1.4.7, 1.5 or 1.6.4 plugin and you don't mention what version of MC your trying to run this on. Please verify the version of MC this should run on and then try the instructions but with no support and the dev marking the project inactive your best bet is to let it go IMHO Also first you gotta find out what you gotta fix. As in what you know what the problem is first. Right now you dont even know what your looking for @technikky Please don't double post, you did twice and the forum mods will get upset. Also be helpful when you can saying "You don't know what your doing" is not helpful. Thanks Edited March 8, 2015 by CharZinta
Guest Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) I have verified the version of MC that I am trying to put this mod in to. 1.7.2 The link to the mod that I have found is: http://www.minecraftings.com/painting-selection-gui-mod/ I followed their instructions and still it failed miserably I am trying to get this to coincide with the World Edit with SPC and a good 12 other mods that are loaded. If at best I would like to have a directory or a mod pack that has the Technic and even the world edit that has this painting selection GUI put in it so that way I may not break my wrists trying to get the right painting. Thanks for you're time! -Alex Edited March 9, 2015 by Guest

Yes then add one mod at a time till you find the conflict and make a decision. Either add world edit first or last and try the mod without WE just to make sure. Conflicts can take time to resolve and hunt down but a step by step process will help.
