Forge not working

I created my own server and i got it working but when i try to join it says that i need minecraft forge to join the server and my freinds can get on and ive tried clearing the catche

Backups your saves and texturepacks. Delete everything. Open the launcher and have it download. Restore saves and texturepacks.

I have this problem also have been running tekkit servers for a while until I kept getting errors saying I can't connect to Minecraft.net when I can. I then reinstalled technic launcher (full while of .techiniclauncher and of the exe) This has stopped the connection error but now I cannot join my own server while others can due to supposedly not having minecraft forge.

Any suggestions? I tried to restore my old technic folder but cot the connection errors again!
