How can my friend join my local server

Hello everyone,

I've been looking at a lot of tutorials and have successfully managed to set up a server which functions when I join via "localhost"

However none of these tutorials tell me how my friend can join me.

If someone can explain to me in a simple way or point me in the direction of a tutorial which shows this it would be of great help!

He has to be on your IP then he has to type 'localhost'.

But if you want him to join your server you'll have to port forward.

There are tons of port forwarding guides on the internet.

sorry for being a complete noob but what does port forwarding do

It opens a port so that people can connect to you.

But if you totally have no idea what that is you might want to use Hamachi, it's much easier.

(Google will help you out if you want to port forward.)
