Technic Adventure Maps

Are there any popular custom maps out there? I'm guessing I'd have to roll back to 1.0 or 1.1 but still, so far google has only run into one that had only like 300 downloads.

Not really, although you could check the Get Lost Grotto for adventure maps, and Xylord is creating (What may potentially become) an adventure map about the Tower of Ys, although it is very much WIP right now.
