This is for passively cooled only. My personal preference is to arrange the rods in a "plus sign" shape. Remember that coolant blocks can extend up to four blocks away from the rods. Diamond blocks work awesome if you're rich, graphite if your not. Putting a liquid ender jacket as the final layer helps a bit, but I often skip it. Edited May 11, 2015 by AetherPirate Quote
