Machines appearing as white blocks to everyone after restart, but still functional

Hello,

I have a very strange problem. After a server restart, some machines change in appearance to white cubes. This isn't just one client's problem, because everyone seems to see the machines as white blocks. They are, however, still functional.

Would anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it?

That's also a problem for my server. It's probably related to the minecraft.net issues, since it mostly seems to occur during similar time periods. I don't really know how to prevent it, so I just go on using the machines as normal, and the textures come back after the next server reboot, usually.

It happens to me on a server I play on as well. I can't tell apart from the machines :(
