help i am confused

ok I realy need help so I have an amd a8 5500 quad core cpu 3.2 ghz 512 mbs of vram and 8 gigs of ram I try to play ultra modded survival 3 with 6 gigs allocated now I get a lot of ram but I have 1 question im upgrading to a amd a10 apu quad core 4.1ghz usally with my normal computer I get lots of lag but with the new apu will it help or will I need more ram or is there something I can do to increase the performance

Allocating more than 3gb worsens performance. Dial it back to 3. 

Make sure minecraft is using your fancy GPU and not the crappy onboard video. 

Also make sure no other CPU intensive programs are running while you play.
