Cobblestone generator issue

Hi all

Built a cobblestone generator - Block breakers in a row with water one side - lava the other.

Timer operates the breakers.

But they just instantly turn the lava to Obsidian

Any ideas? Makes no odds however deep the lava is either

You need to have the water hit flowing lava.

It is flowing lava. Not sure what is going on. I know if it hits static lava it becomes Obsidian

OK. Issue seems to be if the lava is more than 2 blocks long

Place the water/lava so the water reaches full extent before the stream is next to the lava source block.
