Parox Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Time and time again I have tried to set up a tekkit server. And time and time again I have failed. I follow YouTube tutorials with every step carefully. But I can't seem to get it to work, I have port forwarded the exact same way I have in the past, with port 25565. Gave my friend my external ip address, configured the settings in server.proporties correctly, and I have allowed minecraft through my firewall. Both TCP and UDP. If any one out there has more information or help I would be very great full. Thanks in advance. -Parox Mod Edit: We can see your name, 2 inches away.

Parox Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 Wait do you need java 7 for this to work? I'm not sure if I have 7 or 6
Torezu Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 You actually need calm, collected help. Desperate help is...unreliable at best. You do need Java 7. You also need a firewall/antivirus that's not blocking your connection.
Torezu Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 I would assume you just need to let Java, the launcher, and Minecraft through. Can you connect with the localhost?
Parox Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Yes I can, same with my ivp4 but not the external ip adress
