does anyone know how to run minecraft through a proxy

Uhm,

There's numerous solutions one can use, but the system administrators at my school are total dick bags, so I've had to go full troll and hack the whole damn system :/

there are java command line arguments to route java traffic through a proxy. I don't know them off the top of my head but they exist. the trick for using them with technic is to stop the launcher from relaunching itself and clearing your command line stuff. in order to stop this, you have to first create a directory in the .techniclauncher folder called "rtemp", then run the launcher with your desired proxy options.

this trick no longer works on the current launcher. there will be some functionality added to pass command line args like this to minecraft when launched, but there's no ETA on that currently.
