Frostbite528 Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Hi, I have my own tekkit server that mostly runs fine, but sometimes in the code a message is displayed that says " (ATTENTION) Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? " Sometimes this message comes several times in a row. All I understand about it is that it causes terrible lag on the server, and most of the time the server works if I stop it then start it again. But sometimes it just keeps coming every time I launch the server and it's getting annoying. So does anyone know any useful information/help about how to fix/prevent this? All help is appreciated :)
Torezu Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 This isn't really Tekkit server-related, it's more a Minecraft server problem. It's an indication that either you don't have enough RAM dedicated to your server, or your internet connection is not fast enough to support your server very well. There may be in-game causes like lots of items dropped or a lot of machinery running.
Frostbite528 Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Ok how would I allocate more RAM for my server?
Diabloz Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 find your launch/start/whatever.bat or .sh look for -Xms1G -Xmx 1G and change the 1G to whatever moemory you want, it might not say 1G as i am showing you as an example. remember to leave some memory for your other applications as resources, and then add this magical plugin, http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/obushutthehellup/
Lothos Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 it can also be the cpu of the server as well. mine does it alot if ALOT starts going on.

Lothos Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I'm sorry, is the abbreviation CPU too hard? How about processing power. You know, the magic chip inside the big black box that does all the F'ing work in the first place? If you have ALOT of shit going on really fast all of a sudden on the minecraft server, the cpu of the machine may not be able to keep up regardless of how much F'ing ram you got or dedicated to java.
Torezu Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Alot is not an abbreviation. It's nothing. Really.
